Happy Thanksgiving for 15 Months of Benjamin

**Okay, I started this post before his 15 month birthday, haha. Time to finish and post it already!

Benjamin is 15 months old. It’s pretty weird that we are already having “2nds” of things. But we quite enjoyed his second Thanksgiving holiday – very different from the last one…

We had a nice trip through NW Iowa to see family and then came back home to celebrate with Jesse’s side. I was glad that a sippy cup could settle Benny down for 2 minutes on Great Grandma’s lap.

Ben is very active and loves to investigate cupboards, doors, and – well – everything. I recently learned he can drag over his plastic dinosaur toy and use that as a step to climb on to the ottoman that is barricading our entertainment center. Hooray for problem solving!

Ben hasn’t spoken a true “first word” yet, but he is definitely understanding more things and shares many more opinions. Food is now thrown on the floor with rapid head shaking if he’s not interested. Luckily, this is a rare occasion as of now. He’s still a very good eater.

Current favorites –

Toys: Anything that can hit something else (wooden spoons, frying pans, blocks, etc.), milk jugs and empty bottles, boxes

Songs/Stories: “Itsy Bitsy Spider” is still a big hit, although his musical tastes are broadening. Mr. Brown Can Moo Can You? is his favorite book – mostly because his father does amazing sound effects.

Food: Goldfish crackers, bananas & any kind of fruit, oatmeal, red peppers, watermelon, applesauce

Activities: Peek-a-boo/”Where’s Benny”, pulling books off of shelves, doing laps around the big blue chair, chasing Jack Meower, putting puzzle pieces on top of the puzzle boards and pretending they got in the correct spot, enjoying the great expressions his parents give him when the pieces actually do go in the correct spot, and bath time!

For our long holiday car ride, we went ahead and moved the car seat to front-facing. We felt pretty comfortable with that, since his feet were getting scrunched against the seat and he was over 8 pounds heavier than the weight requirements for switching it, haha. He enjoyed the change too:
