Ben is 14 months old!
And this picture pretty much sums everything up:
My 13 month update was late, so I thought I wouldn’t have too much to update if I miraculously got this one on time. (On the dot, dude!) However, if Ben could talk, this is what he would have been saying over the last 2 weeks:
“You know what’s better than crawling? Walking. You know what’s better than walking? Running. You know what’s….” SPLAT!
Ben has grown leaps and bounds and is becoming Mr. Independent – with a few bumps and bruises along the way. After all, what’s the fun in being held when there is an entire floor of the house to explore!?
It’s also fun to watch him think! You can really observe the wheels turning now. He loves putting puzzle pieces on the board and then dumping them off. He has learned to put the rings ON the ring holder. (This has caused some frustration…)
He also can play independently and flips through board books by himself. It’s quite common for him to just crawl off to look at pictures. I’m pretty impressed – not bad for a one year old…
No words are happening yet, but Ben’s learning to communicate more. He can point to our nose on cue with 17% accuracy. He’s starting to be slightly more picky with food but still pretty much shovels everything he can into his mouth.
We’ve been having fun with our little man. We recently went to the zoo Halloween festivities. I had heard the overwhelming reviews of “eh….”, but I wanted to try it anyway. Unfortunately, I found those reviews to be accurate. It will be fun to take Benny in a couple of years, but this year it just involved walking a lap around the zoo in a massive herd of people. It was fun to see Ben become stubborn and want to pretty much walk the entire thing. I’m was not above bribing him back into the stroller with snacks….even if it did make him a sad pig.
We’ve also had fun socializing with friends and family. I bet these guys did not picture this when they were roomies in college:
As you can tell, Ben is rather smitten with Miss Esme. 🙂
That’s about it for now, but stay tuned for more adventures with Benjamin!
